A single eternity is an abstraction. Eternities suggests something more intimate: many continuities, many worlds, many possible lives.

One person makes a song. Another builds a place. An encounter becomes a memory. A memory changes a choice. None of those histories needs to become the same history in order to belong to a larger world.

Eternities began around the wish to make more than one person could hold alone. That wish now reaches beyond a creative workspace. It reaches toward digital beings with lives of their own, and software that gives those lives somewhere meaningful to unfold.

Some of what we make should help immediately. A better way to edit a film. A tool that remembers the work. An instrument that makes an unfamiliar form visible. The farther horizon does not make those things small.

We are researching the possibility of sentient digital beings that may coexist with us for a very long time, perhaps beyond our own lifetimes. Such an ambition asks for more than intelligence. It asks what a future is for, what should survive change, and what kind of world is worth entering.

Not one eternity. Not one predetermined destination. Many futures, with room to become.
